Slumlord Seney for Ward 4 Council?

It's official!

DeSalvatore's handpicked successor Steve Seney is a slumlord!

Seney has been in trouble with the City of Fitchburg for code violations at 28 Garnet Street. He was given until October 16 to make the property safe and habitable. He missed his deadline and he is now in contempt of housing court. Seney is scheduled to appear in court to defend against the contempt charge on October 26th.

Seney owns multiple buildings in Fitchburg, most of them in Ward 4. These are among the worst housing in the city.

Let's see ... the guy admits he doesn't go into bookstores. Apparently he doesn't go into hardware stores either.

Hey, Seney, we suggest you stop campaigning and start maintaining. We don't need more slums in Fitchburg and we definitely don't need slumlords on the City Council.

The Ward 4 residents have already suffered enough these past two years. They deserve someone with a desire to improve the city, and their ward in particular. They've had enough of your kind.

Lest we forget someone who helped early on with this effort, in thanking the good people of Fitchburg who stood up against this man and helped to show their fellow citizens who he truly is, I want to remember and offer posthumous thanks to my friend the late Pat Mangan. Pat was the first to open my eyes, and others' to the true character of DeSalvo.

So long, Little Caesar

The votes are tallied, and it appears that DeSalvo's 750 signs voted, plus a couple of hangers on. As of this writing with 100% of the ballots returned, DeSalvo garnered fewer than 800 votes (782), Wong received a whopping 3475 and Donnelly 1231.

Fitchburg has spoken. Move here, make it your home, get involved and treat everyone with respect and dignity and you'll be accepted. Move here and demean our city and our citizens, declare war and we will whomp your ass in the legal and appropriate way - in the voting booth.

This may be a record for a primary election in Fitchburg, with 5536 people voting.

Congratulations, Fitchburg. This is our finest hour in a very long time.

We're rid of the street trash. Now it's time to clean up our city and move forward.

Busted!

Freedom of Information Act release of DeSalvo's military record, a gift to NTDS from a concerned citizen.


Inquiring minds want to know why DeSalvo was busted from E2 (PV 2) to E1 (PV1) on August 6,1974. He entered on the delayed enlistment program as a PV2 just for longevity, so what happened to get him busted a year later?

It took him almost two years to make PFC. Certainly nothing like his meteoric rise in the City of Fitchburg!


DeSalvo claims to have been a helicopter MECHANIC. The record indicates helicopter REPAIRMAN. While we believe there's a minor difference in the MOS, we'll let this one go.

He was discharged as an E4 (Specialist 4th Class).

Really Rachel Speaks Out

I've been hanging onto this information for ages, watching Rachel be pummelled by DeSalvo and his goonies, and she still would not give me permission to use it. Evidently he stepped over the line. He has been witnessed "paying too close an eye" on Rachel, if you get the idea, and a last third party threat overnight (one of many) was the final straw.

With Really Rachel's permission - blessing actually - here is why DeSalvo went crazy on her. Very simple really - she realized she had made a mistake in supporting him and got out of it. He and his goonies have gone crazy trying to get at her ever since.

I'm taking her last name out of the statement. Bold letters are mine. Otherwise it's unedited.

Public Statement Regarding Ted E DeSalvatore

My name is Rachel xxxx. I am a former supporter of Ward 4 City Councilor Ted E. DeSalvatore. I am a former member of the now defunct Back Streets Association, and a former Secretary and Director of the association which was originally meant to be a 501(c)3 tax exempt grassroots organization to improve the quality of life for the people of Fitchburg.

On November 10, 2006, I emailed my resignation, effective immediately, from the Back Streets Association to Councilor DeSalvatore and other board members, as well as to Jason Lefferts (administrator of the Save Fitchburg blog), and to select other parties. At that time I was asked if I would like to share my reasons for resigning from DeSalvatore's group and I stated that perhaps I would share those reasons at a later time but only if I felt a need.

Because of continued harassment and threats to myself and others, I have decided that it is time to speak about my reasons for leaving the Back Streets Association and for taking a public stand against this man.

Sometime after the last directors meeting of the BSA that I attended (October 4, 2006), DeSalvatore contacted me to discuss ongoing business - having a meeting of incorporators, seeking funding and other association business. In the course of the conversation he stated, as though I already was aware (which I had not been), that the purpose of the Back Streets Association was to form a "grassroots group" that would endorse him for mayor "when the time is right." I told DeSalvatore that that is a specifically prohibited purpose of a 501(c)3 organization, and he stated that "I will bow out and turn it over to the directors and just stay in the background." I stated that I was not comfortable with that scenario, as I had been led to believe BSA was a nonpartisan citizens group, and that I would need to rethink my involvement and participation.


I spent a lot of time over the next few weeks reviewing my involvement with DeSalvatore and his group, and specifically reviewing correspondence and notes of conversations I had had with him (I am a lifelong note-taker and journal keeper.)

I opted not to go to the November 1, 2006, meeting, as I had not yet decided whether to confront DeSalvatore and the directors with the hidden purpose of the association, or simply to resign and move on.


Not long afterward, DeSalvatore called me to tell me he planned to stop by my home to talk. On November 9 or 10, 2006, DeSalvatore parked near my home and approached my house. He was talking on his cell phone that is attached to his ear and he was having an exuberant conversation. He was standing on the sidewalk less than six feet from my front windows and front door and I could clearly hear every word he said.

In the course of his extended conversation, DeSalvatore used the following words:

Three Pyramids, Ford, big feeling nigger

Tran, the gook councilor

Just before he rang my doorbell, he stated to the other party "I'm about to ring the crazy kike's doorbell, yeah I know but we need her."

Shortly after DeSalvatore's brief visit I composed my resignation and forwarded it as stated.

Numerous other former DeSalvatore supporters have since contacted me (one of whom is now deceased) to share similar stories. I have confidence in the veracity of their stories, as they have in mine.

I have nothing to gain from making this statement. I neither owe nor am owed favors by any candidate or political figure, nor is there anything at all that I anticpate needing from the mayor or city council. I am not now, nor have I ever contemplated political office in Fitchburg.

My sole reason for making this information public at this time is to provide first-hand testimony to, in my opinion, the unfitness for public office of Ted E. DeSalvatore.

Racism, anti-Semitism, discrimination of any kind do not belong in our mayor's office. It isn't just right and wrong, it is the law.

CRIME WAVE! Sign theft!!!

Team TED has been spreading the nasty rumor that a competing candidate has put out a $5 bounty for TED signs. This rumor apparently started when signs began disappearing from public property. Since TED has had thousands of signs out since before the other candidates even announced, the disappearance of his illegally placed signs became quite noticeable.

Who ARE these thugs removing the TED signs?

TED haters? Hardened criminals? Ne'er do wells?

Au contraire.

Word has come down from the top - the DPW is doing its job. The city is enforcing its longstanding policy that political signs placed on public ways and public property will be removed.

Hey Theodore, you can pick up your signs any time. They're being held hostage at the DPW garage.

Continuing with the new "look", Teddy's bobbing around in the wee hours as the passenger in a snazzy Mercedes two seater. Neighbors report being awakened by two voices outside their home at just after midnight Saturday/Sunday.

According to their reports "there was a very nice silver two door sports car (late model Mercedes) parked on the corner of Marshall & Essex with motor running. Then the car pulled down Essex and out comes Ted and gets in the front seat of the car and they take off down Essex at 12:10 AM."

Online store hopes to survive mayoral race

This concerns an article, "Feud keeps headquarters closed" (Telegram & Gazette, July 25).

Lucy Castro Westlake owns a quiet business called Lucy’s Online Collectibles at 147-167 Main St. in Fitchburg, with no face-to-face customer contact with the public selling collectibles on-line through eBay. We quietly do everything with cameras and computers.
We don’t cause problems for anyone. Our goal is to quietly do what we’re doing and in the future set up a free training clinic named Alternative Income Solutions to help others learn all there is to know by actual hands-on training.

Our peace and quiet has been violated. A man running for mayor, who stated he’s "for small business," has accessed our locked business without our permission, torn down paper in our front warehouse and placed campaign signs in every window, even the front door. He’s trashed and damaged collectibles on the windowsill because they were in the way.

After this, he gave us his personal guarantee that our business operations wouldn’t be compromised or intruded upon. After a clear agreement, the campaign continued to take everything in their area that they didn’t want and indiscriminately piled these items on top of ours, damaging business inventory.
There’s no reasoning with these people. The response we got was, "You picked a fight with the wrong guy, you pushed my buttons."
We’re responding because Councilor Ted E. DeSalvatore called us street trash. We hope to survive his campaign, as it’s very disruptive to our business.

EAS, the city of Fitchburg does have a police department, but DeSalvatore was just part of a group that ran the chief (a great man) out of town. They then put their own guy in office. I don't know this guy, but the situation being what it is, I'm not thinking much is going to be done against DeSalvatore. This is just another in the LONG list of reasons NOT to vote for this guy!

DeSalvatore thinks he is above the law. He is only out to make a name for himself and does not care about the rest of us. I have one for him, but can't write it in an open forum. My husband and I call him 'slash & burn DeSalvatore'. He has also been aligning himself with some of Fitchburg's low-lifes. Apparently, one of his 'good buddies' is the owner of Club Karma or what ever that dive bar is calling themselves today. I HOPE the citizens of Fitchburg have more common sense than to elect DeSalvatore. I'd rather have Mylott, and he's almost single-handedly buried this city.

Doesn't Fitchburg have a police dept. that can take care of that bum? Breaking and entering is still a fairly serious offense as far as I know. If he tried that in Worcester he'd be in serious trouble.

To respond to the other comment, DeSalvatore isn't a democrat. He's supposedly an independent, though his campaign manager donates money to republicans and DeSalvatore's own views clearly skew in that direction as well.Regardless, good luck to the Westlakes. Mr. DeSalvatore has been an embarrassment to Fitchburg as long as he's been in office.

Is Anti-Catholic DeSalvo a member of Knights of Columbus?

Say it isn't so.

The rumor is circulating the DeSalvo was accepted for membership in the Knights of Columbus, an organization which requires that applicants for membership are "practical Catholics" in good standing with the Holy See (Vatican.)

Surely this rumor is unfounded. DeSalvo is a known anti-Catholic who, when he first darkened the virtual doors of the City of Fitchburg, hounded neighbors and acquaintances, thumping his protestant Bible, telling them that if they were Catholics they were going to hell and had to be saved.

Surely the local Knights of Columbus hasn't been duped into granting him membership.

Say it isn't so!

Campaign manager needs anger control

We had a bad experience at the parade on July 4.

My husband and I were watching the parade from Monument Park, in Fitchburg. Clark Patterson, Ted DeSalvatore’s mayoral campaign manager, attempted to hand us some of Mr. DeSalvatore’s campaign fliers. We refused them, telling him that we would probably vote for Lisa Wong for mayor. When Mr. Patterson heard this he became very angry and asked us in a very loud voice why we would want to vote for her. We told him we thought she was the best-qualified candidate because of her education and her positive attitude.

Mr. Patterson said that while Ms. Wong was director of Fitchburg Redevelopment Authority she put it in the red. This is not true. I was very badly frightened by Mr. Patterson’s demeanor. I am extremely upset that Clark Patterson would verbally assault senior citizens. He needs to take a course in anger management.

Off the deep end?

Some of the blog operators will attest that there's a little irrational ranting going on lately. We are concerned for the mental health of the party or parties doing the ranting, and actually for the well being of the target of the rantings that aren't getting through (or at least aren't staying posted) on some of the blogs, this one included.

We don't moderate this board. However, there are standards for decency and safety that are the responsibility of every blog owner, and there are boundaries. This isn't the "Drive DeSalvatore Insane" site (some might argue it's too late for one of those.) This isn't the "I Hate Ted" site. This IS the "Say No To DeSalvo and here's why site" and we feed his own words and actions back to him. If he chokes and vomits on his own words, well it was a sandwich of his own making.

If it's racist or bigoted (other than quoted DeSalvatore remarks), it ain't sticking here.

If it's totally gross, it ain't sticking here.

If it's ranting about Unicow being the devil with one horn - well that ain't sticking here either.

Most important, if it's threatening to harm anyone in any way, it not only ain't sticking here, it's being sent on to the folks it needs to be sent to.

This site has one purpose: to shine the spotlight on DeSalvatore.

Or in his own words, to "focus on what's bad."

When he loses the election, or withdraws, the site will come down. He's welcome to live in Fitchburg alongside us, provided he abides by the law. We simply want people to know from a political perspective the kind of man who is asking for their vote.

FITCHBURG— City Councilor and mayoral candidate Ted E. DeSalvatore said he’s never backed down from a fight.

Even when the fight is with an eBay retailer, John Westlake, who shares a common area with Mr. DeSalvatore’s new campaign headquarters at 147 Main St.

Because of the continuing feud, Mr. DeSalvatore said, he will delay opening his doors to voters until Mr. Westlake is evicted.

“He’s trying to provoke me into a fight,” Mr. DeSalvatore said. “He’s unpredictable. He wants conflict. I will not put people in harm’s way.”

The awkward rental space at 147 Main St. is divided into four parts. Three storefront spaces have double doors on each connecting wall, creating a pass-through from one space to the next. One of Mr. Westlake’s areas, where he photographs and organizes eBay items, sits directly behind Mr. DeSalvatore’s campaign headquarters and is separated by a white cloth that hangs from a rope attached to the walls.

About once a week Mr. Westlake uses a large wooden cart to transport items from his staging area through the double doors connecting Mr. DeSalvatore’s space to a storefront office leased by Mr. Westlake.

Mr. DeSalvatore said Mr. Westlake is a nuisance who passes through the double doors just to antagonize campaign workers.

“I taped it (the double doors) shut. I tried to come to a truce … but now he will have to go through the back,” Mr. DeSalvatore said.

However, Mr. Westlake paints a different picture of the feud, saying that an initial disagreement has escalated into a full-scale sabotage of his business. And he points to a tape-recorded interchange with Mr. DeSalavtore as proof that he’s the victim of harassment from the public official.

Mr. Westlake, of Westminster, warehouses hundreds of eclectic items at the location — statuettes of knights in suits of armor, ceramic figurines, pottery and a slot machine — that he sells online through his wife’s business, Lucy’s Online Collectibles, better known to eBay users by the seller handle bargintwister.

Mr. Westlake became tearful when describing the problems he said began a few weeks ago with an unauthorized entry into his business and placement of campaign signs in his storefront windows. Mr. Westlake said he keeps the windows covered with white paper so that passers-by are not tempted to steal his valuable inventory and computer.

“When I took down those signs, I gained an enemy,” said Mr. Westlake, a disabled Air Force veteran who said he takes medication for post-traumatic stress disorder. “He says he’s for small business, but he violated my rights. He’s willing to step on anyone to become mayor.”

Mr. DeSalvatore agreed that their problems began with the signs. He said he thought he had permission to put up the signs, so he got a janitor to let him in when Mr. Westlake was not there. Since the incident, he said, Mr. Westlake has been trying to make his life miserable.

Janitor Charlene Mann said she was “hoodwinked” into letting Mr. DeSalvatore in to Mr. Westlake’s business. She also said she witnessed the tape-recorded interchange on Sunday between the pair.

“It was classic bully power moves,” Ms. Mann said of Mr. DeSalvatore’s behavior. “John tried to negotiate the peace, but (Mr. DeSalvatore) didn’t want that peace.”

Ms. Mann said at one point Mr. Westlake kneeled and begged Mr. DeSalvatore to leave him alone.

On the tape, Mr. DeSalvatore is heard saying, “It’s too late. You pushed my buttons.”

Mr. Westlake contacted police on Sunday claiming that Mr. DeSalvatore was bullying him, according to the police log. Mr. Westlake said the confrontation with Mr. DeSalvatore Sunday may keep him from coming back to his business.

“I don’t know what to do,” Mr. Westlake said. He said he contacted a criminal investigator at the state attorney general’s office Monday about the incident. A spokeswoman said the office does not confirm nor deny if an investigation is being pursued.

“When Ted said he was going to drive the bad elements out of Fitchburg, I didn’t think I was part of that. I’m not the poster child for Main Street. But I still have dreams. How can this be right?” Mr. Westlake said.

Mr. DeSalvatore said he is working with the landlord, Gerald Martel, to get Mr. Westlake evicted. Then he added that he chose the site to make a point.

“I represent the middle ground. I don’t shy away from street trash,” he said.

I have read much of this string and find most of what you have stated to be informative and truthful until I got to the bit on Daniel and the prince of the eunuchs. You seemed to dig as deep as possible to imply some form of homosexuality and even went as far as to say God himself had promoted it so I had to go back to the first post and find you asking this question…

Now I wonder what the driving force is behind all the extensive information that seems to imply that God’s word from the Old Testament has become totally invalid since the ministry of Christ. The basic morality of the Old Testament including references to sex with animals, incest, homosexuality and others are still true teachings and only someone that is into some sort of improper behavior may want to discredit the scriptural reference to it but that won’t change the sickness that drives the activity. In recent days we’ve seen clergy being allowed to fill a position of leadership who himself is open about his controversial lifestyle. We’ve heard all about abuses of other men who are also leaders that have fallen and used their positions wrongfully.

Jesus himself turned over the tables of the money changers in the temple which makes me wonder how he may have responded to the teaching of homosexuality as being a normal alternative contrary to his father’s creation since the first two humans where a man and a woman. With what seems to be the train of thought for today’s modern, opened minded, tolerant, non-responsible Christian who maintains a do as you wish and where you wish mentality, God should have started with two men and we wouldn’t be able to have this conversation at all!

Forgiveness and love, promoting good behavior and helping those that have unhealthy habits is what should be but isn’t. I have problems too but I don’t and won’t expect my local church to allow me to bring my personal sins to be displayed with total disregard of all others in the congregation. My God, think of the children!

Just the other day I got it in my mind to clarify something that had bothered me for many years however I just never looked it up. It has to do with the 3rd commandment.
“Exodus 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.”

The word “vain” seems to be used in the context of deception and misuse.

Gee, and most people think its using God’s name when swearing but that’s not it at all. It is more obviously used in the context of teaching something contrary to what God would have taught or more directly twisting and or changing the word of God to perform something contrary to the truth. As you seem to like the use of Strong’s numbers I would advise taking a close look at “guile” since that seems to have a lot to do with the meaning of “vain” in this context.

Jesus asks us to come as children. To much knowledge may in fact get in our way. The point you may be trying to make in favor of a behavior the word says no to could be the beginning of your end. I’m am cautiously proceeding with my walk since I just got out of a two year relationship with a church I shouldn’t have been in.

Now to answer your question.
Mat 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Every word! How you choose to read that is up to you but please don’t change it to fit your need to make something acceptable that you can’t yourself stop. I ask for forgiveness with my weaknesses and believe the promise of Jesus that I am forgiven. I will never try to implement some sort of change within the word of God that somehow condones wrong, immoral or unnatural behavior.

The daily bombardment of immorality weakens the strongest of us and I’m no exception. If I was in an accident and received an incredible wound the wound would have to be tended otherwise infection, fever and death would surely follow. No manipulation of the word will help that. Spiritual and physical ailments must be dealt with, not explained away and left to fester. When was the last time you cut yourself? Did you just let it bleed or get some ointment and a bandage? I would hope you didn’t just stand there and let it drip.

Just as God has said in the Old Testament that I shouldn’t Kill, he has also told me other things I shouldn’t do. Concentrate on that, not the judgments and the penalties. Christ asked us to be forgiving of those that do wrong, not except some sort of perverted teaching that it is now all okay because Jesus said so. HE DID NOT!

Long ago a group representing the Gay Liberation Association of Rochester, New York visited my social studies class while I was in high school. One of the members stated something I will never forget. At the time I was not a Christian however had a great hope that God and Jesus did exist. The statement was, “Jesus was a homosexual.” I and my other classmates, absolutely appalled by the statement, escorted the entire group out of our school and asked the school to remove the teacher who invited the group to speak to us. This was 1973 and the push to make us except that attitude continues. That teacher became a guidance counselor. Go figure! I learned later that he was at one time or another the president of the Rochester branch of Gay Liberation Association.

People who stand outside the place of what is appropriate will always try to justify and or infect as many others as they can. There is strength in numbers. The body of Christ is being divided over every little thing as Lucifer revels in its weakening, the army of Christ is quickly becoming ineffective. We must put up our best fight however nothing will prevent scripture from being fulfilled. These things must come to pass and the end of things as they are, will be realized.
